Cap Tex Triathlon Brand Ambassador Program

The Cap Tex triathlon is May 26 which is about 10 weeks away. My dad and I have been training for almost over a year now. My dad and I are going to do the Olympic Distance Race together. We would like to get the word out about this so we can raise money for causes like the Pure Joy Foundation and others by doing this sort of thing all around the world. We are starting in Austin, Texas first…because that is where we live.

Lifetime fitness is offering an athlete brand ambassador program and we think this program would be great for us to participate in because we can help get the word out about their race and have a greater opportunity to share our story about aiming to do triathlons around the world. Here is our story:

To see more pictures here is our photo album on shutterfly.

Once selected as a brand ambassador we would need to be willing to talk in front of other people, share our story and theirs and help them get the word out. We are up for the challenge. My dad and I enjoy talking…it has been said he would talk to a fence post.

Would you spread the word and help us get people to sign up? They have sprint triathlons which are shorter distances than the one my dad and I are doing. I am 12 and my dad is over 40…so if we can swim one mile, bike 26 miles, and run 6 miles, we encourage you to Tri any of the short or long distances…you can do this!

If anything come and cheer my dad and I on…..he will need the cheering to keep up with me.

So, going back three weeks ago:

Saturday Feb 22 I ran 7 miles,

Sunday Feb 23, with a friend of ours, we drove to a highschool near Buda and biked 40 miles toward San Marcos.

The next weekend, I wasn’t feeling to good, so all we did was a quick 20 miles on the bike, and we didn’t run, unfortunately.

This weekend it was pouring rain on Saturday so we rode the stationary bikes for an hour, then ran 6 or 6 1/2 miles Sunday, it was 40 or 50 degrees and cold.

Now, you might be thinking what did I do throughout the week?

Well, Monday’s we take off, Tuesday we work out our legs, Wednesday we do dry land swim workouts ( as well as an ab workout ), Thursday we run for 15 to 30 minutes ( sometimes we push a HUGE tire up a hill and sprints up the hill as well ), Fridays we do yoga.

Now that it is starting to warm up, I got an Ironman wetsuit and will be swimming open water in Lake Travis from the Lakeway Marina.

So….that’s my workout schedule, and how I train. I wake up 5 days a week at 5:30 a.m., not the easiest thing in the world!

But you know, even though sometimes it’s hard and I don’t want to do it….but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Thank you Beet Elite, the stuff works great!

Thank you Jack and Adams, the bike rides great!
